The Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced that the Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) holiday has been extended to 30 June 2021!

The announcement means that Buyers purchasing their main or only home will only pay SDLT on any part of the purchase price exceeding £500,000.00 Buyers of additional or buy to let properties will also benefit from the extended SDLT holiday with the continuation of a flat rate of 3% up to £500,00.00. In addition, from 1 July 2021 until 30 September 2021 the SDLT threshold will be raised from the current value of £125,000 to £250,000.
Sunak said: “The cut in stamp duty I announced last summer has helped hundreds of thousands of people buy a home and supported the economy at a critical time”.
