John Barker
Business Development Director
John is a qualified solicitor, born in York, educated in Yorkshire, has worked in Yorkshire since the early 1970s, and is most definitely a true Yorkshireman.
Having specialised in company, commercial and commercial property law, his earlier experience nevertheless encompassed matrimonial, criminal. licensing, probate and trust law, debt collection, domestic conveyancing, employment and general litigation. He is quoted as saying that he knows a little about a lot and possibly a lot about a little, invaluable when conducting an overview of clients’ legal reqirements.
He is an Honorary Member of Boston Jaycees, (the Boston USA Junior Chamber of Commerce), and a former Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Member of the Institute of Management, Fellow of the Institute of Financial Accountants and twice runner up in the Institute of Directors Yorkshire region Non Executive Director of the Year Awards.
As such, and with his many and varied contacts, he is well placed to assess prospective clients’ needs and act as a deal maker before involving other members of the Bury and Walkers team.
